Gistermiddag ging in het DeLaMar in Amsterdam De eetclub in première. Het toneelstuk is gebaseerd op het gelijknamige boek van Saskia Noort.
De eetclub gaat over Karen (Nyncke Beekhuyzen), die vanuit Amsterdam verhuisd is naar een dorp en zich naar niet helemaal op haar plek voelt. Samen met haar man Michel (Chris Tates) voegt ze zich toe aan een eetclub. De eetclub bestaat in totaal uit vier stelletjes. Heel keurig is deze eetclub niet. Ieder lid bezit geheimen en onderling versieren de leden elkaar. Zo is Simon (Frederik Brom) de grote verleider van het hele stel. Na een tijd lopen de spanningen zo hoog op dat zelfs doden vallen.
Ondanks dat gedurende de voorstelling de doodsoorzaken snel te herleiden zijn is De eetclub een mooie voorstelling. Nyncke weet het publiek in te pakken met haar spel, maar ook met de toespelingen naar het publiek inzake haar gevoelens. Tina de Bruin, die de rol van Hanneke vertolkt, weet op een mooie wijze humor aan het stuk toe te voegen. Helaas verdwijnt de humor, nadat Hanneke in coma raakt. Hierna wordt het verhaal serieuzer en komen de ‘vrienden’ terecht in een zoektocht naar de waarheden.
De overige personages, gespeeld door Hanna Verboom, Cystine Carreon, Pauline Greidanus en Loek Peters, hebben elk hun eigen kenmerken, welke mooi tot uiting komen in het toneelstuk.
Het decor is heel eenvoudig, maar hierdoor heeft de bezoeker geen last van decorwisselingen. Door middel van mooi, wel eenvoudig, licht gebruik worden de locaties waar het verhaal zich afspeelt benadrukt.
