In de Kleine Zaal van het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam presenteerde Frits Sissing vandaag de plannen voor een nieuw en groots opgezet musicalgala, Musical Classics. Op 30 maart 2012 brengt Musical Classics de musicalmuziek van nu en weleer terug naar Ahoy Rotterdam. Dit avondvullende programma staat, volgens producent Rocket, garant voor ‘een symfonisch, meeslepend en indrukwekkend musicalconcert’. Hiervoor heeft zij speciaal een regelrechte sterrencast samengesteld, waaronder Pia Douwes, Henk Poort, Joke de Kruijf, Tony Neef, Nurlaila Karim, Linda Wagenmakers, Renée van Wegberg, Brigitte Heitzer, Marjolein Teepen, maar ook verrassende namen als Los Angeles, the Voices, Willeke Alberti, Lee Towers en Anita Meyer. Alle artiesten worden tijdens Musical Classics muzikaal begeleid door The New Symphonics, een 55-‐koppig orkest onder leiding van dirigent Maurice Luttikhuis.
